The new asist.org has launched!
Immediate Past President Harry Bruce led the initiative to overhaul ASIS&T’s website during his presidency. As a result, ASIS&T’s Web Presence Task Force, ASIS&T staff members, and consulting firm Seven Heads Design have been hard at work over the past year to create an improved user experience for our members and visitors. Kevin Hoffman, the owner of Seven Heads Design, outlined the efforts that his team has undertaken for the site at https://www.asis.org/SocialMedia/?p=317.
After all that work, we’re excited to announce that the new website has finally launched. Visit https://www.asist.org today to check it out!
New elements of the improved site include:
- A responsive design: it is device-independent and will adapt to your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or other device
- A redesigned logo and brand
- A fresher, cleaner, visually appealing look and feel
- Improved information architecture
- Seamlessly integrated, hot-off-the-press news from ASIS&T and the information science community
- Enhanced membership profile: view it, change it, add a photo of yourself!
- Enhanced membership directory: find members by location, SIG, expertise, and more
- Intuitive information architecture
In addition to these improvements, the site still offers the same features that you’re accustomed to accessing, such as:
- Registration for upcoming webinars and meetings
- Free viewing of archived webinars
- Free online access to JASIST, the Bulletin, and our Annual Meeting proceedings via the Digital Library
- Conference information: Annual Meeting, IA Summit, RDAP Summit, and the EuroIA Summit
- SIG, Chapter, and Committee information
- Learn how you can get involved and be a part of it all!
Additional enhancements are forthcoming, such as an updated Online Bookstore.
When you visit the site, be sure to log in so you can try out our new members-only features. Upon logging in, you can access exclusive content such as free webinars and access to the Digital Library. Once you log in, you won’t need to log in again.
You can also update your profile on the new site. You can now add links to your social media accounts, update your contact information, list your areas of expertise, and add SIGs. This is an important point because you can now join as many SIGs as you would like for free!

We hope that you love the new site, but you will still be able to access the old site while we finalize the new one.
