2017 James M. Cretsos Leadership Award Recipient Announced
SILVER SPRING, MD – The Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) announces that Jeremy McLaughlin is the recipient of the 2017 James M. Cretsos Leadership Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize a new member who has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities in professional activities within ASIS&T
The James M. Crestos Leadership Award Jury said “The impact of Mr. McLaughlin’s steadfast leadership can be seen in so many aspects of our society, and taken as a whole, is extraordinary. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for this dynamic young leader!” Mr. McLaughlin, an ASIS&T member since 2014, steered the Chair of the Arts & Humanities Special Interest Group (SIG) to a SIG of the Year Award in 2015. He participated in panels and presentations at annual meetings, recruited new members, served as a mentor in the New Leaders Program and served as a guest editor of the ASIS&T Bulletin.
Mr. McLaughlin said, “My work with the association and its members is very important to me.” The award will be presented to the recipient at the ASIS&T 2017 Annual Meeting.
The award is named for James M. Cretsos, 1979 ASIS&T president and a long-time contributor to ASIS&T.
