Dr. Maria Bonn is an Associate Professor in the School of Information Sciences, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she leads the MS in Library and Information Science program. Her research focuses on scholarly communication and publishing, especially on what means and methods of scholarly communication best serve scholars in achieving their goals. Her latest work focuses on how scholars and the librarians that support them are responding to shifts toward openness in data, publishing, the conduct of science, and education. She has served on the ASIS&T Publications Committee and as a member of the Board of Directors including the Executive Committee.
